Are you a woman approaching or going through menopause? The hormonal changes that occur during menopause cause women to lose muscle and bone mass.
Strengthening and resistance exercises are so important to minimise this muscle and bone mass loss, yet only 3 in 20 Australian women meet the minimum physical activity guidelines of 150 minutes of moderate physical activity and at least 2 days of muscle strengthening exercises per week - leaving them vulnerable to osteopenia and just not being able to do the things they love in the way that they should be able to do!
If you are concerned about starting a resistance exercise program, or need some guidance, don't hesitate to discuss it with our physiotherapists
