Physiotherapist
Phong is a physiotherapist at Sunbury Physiotherapy with a strong clinical interest and postgraduate training in vestibular physiotherapy, headache and migraine management, as well as TMJ/TMD — areas that many general physiotherapists don’t treat. He also consults at Gisborne Medical Centre, serving clients across Sunbury, Gisborne, and the surrounding region.
Phong enjoys helping people recover from injury, rebuild confidence in movement, and return to daily life, work, exercise, and sport.
About Phong
Phong brings a broad background in private practice physiotherapy, with experience supporting clients across musculoskeletal, vestibular, headache, jaw, balance, concussion, and sports injury presentations. His approach is methodical and practical — focused on understanding the underlying cause of symptoms and building clear, individualised rehabilitation plans.
He has undertaken postgraduate training in vestibular physiotherapy, headache and migraine management, and TMJ/TMD assessment and management, and these remain his areas of deepest clinical interest.
As a former elite Taekwondo athlete who represented Australia internationally, and the current Physiotherapist ans Strength and Conditioning coach for Victorian Taekwondo Poomsae Performance Program , Phong understands what injury recovery genuinely demands — not just physically, but mentally. That experience directly shapes how he approaches return-to-sport rehabilitation with his own clients.
Phong also runs strength and conditioning exercise sessions and Physiolates — a physiotherapy-adapted clinical Pilates program — combining his physiotherapy expertise with a genuine interest in exercise and performance.
Phong is fluent in English, Vietnamese, and German, and welcomes patients who prefer to be seen in any of these languages.
